QuakeCon 2020 has been canceled due to Corona Virus. QuakeCon is a long-standing convention for game investors and it is happening for the last 25 years. The unfortunate decision was made by the organizer ZeniMax Media. This cancellation has been confirmed by Bethesda Softworks and id Software through twitter.
The twitter says, “In recent weeks we have spent a lot of time discussing how we might still move forward with QuakeCon this year, particularly given that it’s the 25th year of the event,” It further says that. “However, with all of the logistical challenges and uncertainties we currently face due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s QuakeCon.
QuakeCon is supposed to be held from August 6-9. To keep the vendors, volunteers, sponsors, employees, and players are the top of the concern as the organizers say. Because of the Corona Virus outbreak, the logistic support is in deep trouble and within this time the organizers won’t be able to complete the work. But still, the authority is brainstorming to find out a solution for a celebration in this August.
